"With kids 4 yrs old to 12 we use low compression balls and smaller courts.  We sometimes use smaller racquets and nets too, for helping the children learn the fundamentals in stroke patterns, court position, and motor skills before they are faced with the challenge of chasing high flying balls that are approaching out of their strike zone and moving at faster paces.  A smaller court and slower balls also create more of an opportunity for strategy to be implemented since the kids aren’t too busy and consumed with the burden of ‘just getting the ball back” while they are on the run and out of position.  They learn that being in position gives you options! You have to setup the children for success with tiny goals and tiny victories.  As they move towards their complete foundation they begin to no longer need barriers, encouragement, prizes, and supportive situations... they are thrilled to come to class because they can play tennis, and compete!  I love to ask the kids if they remember when they couldn't perform even the most simple strokes and strategies.  There is always a smile and a little pride in their eyes.  I simply love what I do!”    -Tyler Robinson PTR certified, head coach for Tennis Roots Academy

"Coach Tyler is great!  My 10 year old daughter, Kiana, has only been taking lessons for a short while, but already has the basics mastered.  But most importantly, Coach Tyler has been successful in making tennis fun for her and her fellow classmates.  Keep up the good work!
